Oklahoma Baptist University offers a small college experience in Shawnee, just outside of Oklahoma City. OBU provides nearly 90 programs taught from a Christian worldview, as well as small class sizes and a 13-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio. OBU ranks among the best online colleges in Oklahoma and tailors its programs to accommodate nontraditional learners. OBU's RN-to-MSN online program offers practicing nurses an advanced degree that leads to leadership roles. Students earn their degree in two years on average. Coursework includes research and evidence for healthcare, philosophical foundations of professional nursing, nursing leadership and health policy, and nursing management for collaborative practice. This degree requires a population-focused health practicum and a nursing capstone course. Distance learners access coursework through the Canvas learning management system. Assignments include essays, exams, discussion board posts, and group projects. Counselors, technical support, and librarians provide additional support.
